You’ll find delicious traditional food at our traditional restaurant – made exclusively with Swiss products – at a moderate price. All dishes are created by Tobias Funke and his team, who prepare them with fresh, select ingredients. Whether meat loaf à la Gasthaus zur Fernsicht or grilled fillet of perch from Lake Constance, our version of the traditional lentil soup or an Appenzell cheese salad, what characterise all our dishes is their full-bodied taste and that little something extra.

 

 

Our recently refurbished traditional restaurant with its select decor in warm colours effuses a cosy atmosphere, inviting you to relax, chat with friends and savour your meal in comfort. The generous glass facade offers breathtaking views.

Biedermeier salon

 

You’ll find the Biedermeier salon on the first floor above the traditional restaurant. It seats 20. It can also be used for à-la-carte guests for large groups.

 

Our Biedermeier salon is also ideal for small-scale events – from Christmas dinners to discrete business lunches to civil weddings. Civil wedding ceremonies are conducted by the Vorderland Appenzell Ausserrhoden registry office.
